What A Year!

Wow! What a year it has been. It’s been a lot of work, a lot of sacrifice of my free time and family time on occasion, but the results have been worth the effort.

This time last year, I had three novellas available in the Cherry Blossom Series. They were my first books to be released, and I enjoyed the learning curve and the lessons I learned about formatting, editing, and using KDP to publish my books and ebooks. This set me up nicely for releasing my first novel.

I was so proud of that book. The Last Coven is historical fiction, based on actual events surrounding the witchcraft trials in Ayrshire in 1650. It also includes fantasy elements and a bit of artistic license in how the facts are presented. I loved the whole process.

The research was fascinating, and intertwining it with the fantasy narrative and a magic system that has been recognised and is up for an award at the BookTok Indie Author Awards is amazing. The Last Coven is also up for best historical fiction novel, and the voting closes later this week. I am excited to see whether my book or my magic system will reach the top spot!

I can’t believe it was a year ago that I released The Last Coven, and since then, I have written and released a few more titles that are doing well. A Coven Lost, the prequel to The Last Coven, was released in the summer and followed by my Scottish Celtic and folklore-inspired fantasy series, book 1, A Curse of Power. It was released in July of this year, and book 2, A Curse of Blood, just went live today! I have loved writing this series, and I am already well underway with book 3, which will hopefully be released in the Spring of 2026.

As Christmas approached, I had been working on an idea I had been sitting on for a few years, and at the beginning of November, I released Frost and Flame. It’s a cosy Christmas romance, and the novella is receiving some really positive feedback. It’s a lovely story of two lonely souls who, after grieving, find each other on Christmas Eve. One is mortal, the other a winter spirit who offers blessings of the frost, and it tracks their journey as they connect and experience the traditions of Christmas together.

It’s not an epic fantasy. Nor are there massive plot twists, but it’s a lovely novella that sets the reader up for the splendour and cosiness of Christmas. Not in the expensive gifts or the hugely commercial monster the festive season can become, but a simple tale of Christmas and experiencing the magic and wonder of the more ordinary and everyday aspects of the season.

My children’s books have been going well too, and I now have four titles live in the Curious Tales of Grim series. It’s been a wonderful experience putting these books together, and I hope my younger readers enjoy the magic and fantasy that have been created in Grim’s world.

If you’d like to keep up to date with my novels and releases, I’ll begin an author newsletter that will coincide with updates on my site. If you’d like to receive regular updates about my author journey and the progression of my books, please email me at becca.storm.author@gmail.com.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS EMAIL ADDRESS FOR SALES OF SERVICES OR ANY SERVICES WHICH INVOLVE PROMOTION OR MARKETING. I HAVE THIS COVERED!

I wish only to keep my readers or potential readers interested and up to date with my current books and writing ideas.

Please check out my new titles, all available via my website or Amazon. All books are also available on audiobook. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to be added to my email list for regular updates.

My books are also live on Barnes and Noble (can’t believe I am saying this!) It’s such a momentous step, and seeing them in such a huge bookstore is just… well, amazing!

As always, take care and keep reading!
