April Update

I’m currently on holiday from work and have spent this time upgrading my titles and author’s page. I was supposed to use this time to finish editing my final novel in the Triquetra Series, A Coven Reborn, but alas… I have been sidetracked!!

Instead, I have updated all covers on my educational workbooks, created a social media presence for this venture, and given the whole brand a little glow-up. I had almost given up on this being a viable series of books to supplement and support children’s learning at school. But I realised that, as a teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge, and having used these activities in class with great success, why would I not share these resources with others? My pupils have experienced many successes this year.

The First Stop Learning series has a fresh new look to make everything clearer, more engaging, and easier for children (and parents!) to use. The content is still rooted in my classroom experience, but the updated design reflects the simple, step-by-step approach I believe works best — building confidence through small, manageable learning activities. I’m really pleased with how the series is coming together and hope it continues to support children on their learning journey.

So that’s what I have been doing… instead of writing. I love the creative process of cover creation, collating activities and making them look attractive and eye-catching. Creating something children will not only want to complete, but also enjoy doing while they learn. That’s where I gain my own sense of success. Hopefully, with the recent facelift and concerted efforts, I will have achieved a range of workbooks that will appeal to children and parents alike.

My goal is to become a recognised author, not only of educational titles but also of fiction. My historical fantasy and myth-inspired adult novels are gaining readers and numbers, and I am finally beginning to see the fruits of my labours. Full-time writer, working from home, may be on the cards in the next few years, and I love the possibility of this being something I do all day, every day.

The journey continues, as does the writing! Happy Wednesday!
